Dr Benoit Jones is Engineering Director for BEMO Tunnelling UK. He has a very diverse experience in tunnelling as a designer, contractor, researcher, technology provider, and academic. He set up the MSc in Tunnelling and Underground Space at the University of Warwick in 2011 and ran it for nearly 5 years. He is a Chartered Civil Engineer and a Fellow of the Geological Society. Throughout his career he has demonstrated a strong commitment to innovation, research and best practice, writing more than 60 articles and papers, and winning three NCE Tunnelling Awards, an ICE Telford Premium Award and an ITA Award. He is the author of the textbook ‘Soft Ground Tunnel Design’, and currently chairs the International Tunnelling Association Activity Group on Low Carbon Concrete Linings.
