Asil Zaidi is an Associate at London Bridge Associates and the incoming Chair of the British Tunnelling Society Young Members (BTSYM), leading the 2025–26 theme “Enabling Innovators.” A tunnelling consultant and a project management professional (PMP®) with a decade of experience across the UK, Ireland, and India, Asil has delivered major underground works spanning geotechnical risk management, construction planning, and digital-led design integration.
He is currently working on planning the design delivery for HS2’s Euston Station, helping coordinate multidisciplinary inputs on one of the UK’s most complex urban tunnelling interfaces. Recently, he played a key role in developing geospatial data driven methodologies for the HS2 London Tunnels, including a predictive algorithm to support TBM–asset risk management and continues to lead the borehole decommissioning workstream along the Euston Tunnel alignment.
Asil represents the emerging generation of tunnelling leaders. Through the BTSYM, he champions innovation, future skills, and more accessible pathways into hands-on technical excellence. An ICE President’s Future Leader and contributor to the ITA’s Working Group 3 on Contractual Practices, he is committed to shaping a more agile, digitally capable, and globally competitive UK tunnelling sector.
