Borja Trashorras Mazon is a UK-based tunnelling leader shaping major infrastructure across London and beyond. He has held senior roles on Crossrail, the Northern Line Extension, the Thames Tideway Tunnel and the Silvertown Tunnel, pioneering UK-first TBM launch and rotation techniques. His portfolio also spans High Speed rail in Spain, viaducts and complex underground logistics. Borja is currently Project Director at the Grain to Tilbury tunnelling project for National Grid, a key project in the Great Grid Upgrade, where they recently launched Europe's largest diameter vertical shaft sinking machine. Passionate about collaborative engineering, safety, programme certainty and low carbon delivery, Borja brings extensive experience in stakeholder engagement, design integration and risk management to the NCE Tunnelling Festival panel, focused on practical innovation.
