Bill Grose is a chartered civil engineer and an independent tunnelling consultant. Bill has wide experience of major tunnelling projects having worked on many, across the world, during his career. Bill retired as a director of Arup in 2014 and has been running his own business ever since. He is currently working on projects in the UK, South Africa, Peru, USA and Georgia, and is a non-executive director of Parliamentary Estates in London. During his career Bill spent time with HM Treasury where he co-wrote the IUK Cost Review in 2010 and has followed this up more recently with papers on cost benchmarking and productivity. Bill was Chairman of the British Tunnelling Society 2006-2008, presented the BTS’s prestigious Harding Lecture in 2012 and has remained actively involved with the running of the BTS ever since.
