Mark Leggett was the British Tunnelling Society Chairman until May 2018, has worked in tunnelling for more than 30 years, and is now a Divisional Director within the Transportation Unit of Mott MacDonald. He is an experienced business director with a background in the leadership of major infrastructure projects who successfully ran Mott MacDonald’s tunnelling business before returning to leadership of major projects.
Mark is a proven project leader, able to manage and direct multidisciplinary teams, with experience in leading and managing design teams, including feasibility studies, from concept design through detailed design, with a background in cost estimating and construction planning. His project experience covers high speed rail, mass transit systems, metros, utilities, and highways, and includes construction techniques for underground construction, including tunnel boring machines, hand excavation, sprayed concrete linings (SCL) and cut-and-cover works.
