Duncan is a chartered mechanical engineer with over 25 years’ experience in project management and engineering across the resources and energy sectors. Duncan has significant regional experience with Teesside process industries and overseas experience in Australia, New Zealand and USA and has held senior roles in operator and EPC contractor organisations and as an independent project delivery consultant. Between 2014-2016 Duncan was a Senior Project Manager for the UK elements of SABICs Teesside Gas Cracking Project, a major strategic development to diversity SABIC’s petrochemicals feedstocks. This involved the development of a new ethane import terminal, cryogenic storage and a 10km transfer pipeline under the river to the Wilton International Site; the conversion of an existing olefins cracker; and supporting infrastructure and utilities works. The assignment spanned the concept, front-end definition, detailed engineering design, construction and commissioning phases of the development. Duncan’s prior roles include General Manager of Business Delivery for WorleyParson NZ’s executive team, with responsibility for project, engineering and construction delivery across the business, as well as various senior positions at Transfield Worley overseeing and managing various projects in the resources and energy sectors. Duncan has a 1st class degree in Mechanical Engineering from Newcastle University and is a graduate of the ICI industrial training programme.
