National Grid , head of project controls
Tim is Head of Electricity Construction at National Grid where he leads a team who support delivery of circa £500m per annum of capital investment across the UK.
Over the past 35 years he has progressed from an apprentice engineer at Rolls-Royce Aero-engines to leadership positions in a variety of projects, programmes and businesses. He has experience stretching across a range of sectors including HS2 (as Director of the Integrated Programme Management Office), Progress Rail Services UK (Managing Director of the largest producer of rail points systems in the UK), Lend Lease Construction (Head of Project Planning & Head of Operations), Network Rail (Programme Manager) and Marconi Telecommunications (Vice President of Process Definition & Improvement).
He is also passionate about helping a community in Burundi (Africa), having founded and run ‘Stand Up & Build Project’ – a charity which has successfully supported building of the first technical school since the civil war.
