 A very experienced construction manager, civil engineer and  tunnelling engineer.

Particular interests and involvement in risk management, competence, collaborative working and  building integrated teams to deliver. Ex Chair of BTS and winner of the James Clark Medal for his services to the tunnelling industry.

Robert (Bob) Ibell commenced his career in 1967, in Nuclear Power, working on the construction of the Wylfa, Hartlepool and Trawsfynydd power stations. He has been involved with tunnelling some 48 years and has been involved in most of the major tunnelling projects in the UK including the Channel Tunnel, the Jubilee Line Extension, and the Channel Tunnel Rail Link (HS1), Tideway and HS2 Section 1. He and eight colleagues formed London Bridge Associates Ltd the construction management consultancy in 2000 where he took up the role of Managing Director More recently he has taken the Joint lead in the London Bridge Consultant Network which harnesses the wealth and spread of senior talent there is in the UK to advise Clients in the UK and abroad in the early stages of project development. Projects have included the Gateway project in New York and very recently considering the application of tunnelling and mining techniques to the demolition of decommissioned nuclear power stations.
