Marco Invernici started his career in tunnelling in 2012 working for a large civil engineering contractor in the United Kingdom. For three years Marco worked on the complex upgrade of London Underground’s Victoria Station, after which he joined Bedi Consulting as tunnel design engineer.
At Bedi Consulting, Marco has worked on the detailed design of new tunnelling schemes and remediation projects on operational tunnels. Projects include the upgrade of London Underground’s Paddington Station, which involved tunnelling underneath operational escalators to provide step-free access to the existing station, and the Mumbai Metro Sahar Road Crossover Cavern, which included the design of the first large diameter permanent sprayed concrete lining in India.
Marco has worked on expanding Bedi Consulting's digital engineering capabilities, with the development of applications for innovative condition assessment and structural monitoring of masonry and cast iron lined tunnels. Marco has combined his experience in monitoring and design to develop innovative methods to utilise cloud and photogrammetric surveys to build detailed digital twins and automate the condition survey process.
